ERG's commitment to advancing the future of MASLD/MASH research is demonstrated through participation in the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH) Non-Invasive Biomarkers of Metabolic Liver Disease (NIMBLE) program. Through leadership team participation and study execution activities, ERG contributes to this landmark Biomarkers Consortium initiative focused on advancing non-invasive biomarkers for the diagnosis and staging of MASLD/MASH.

Industry-Leading Expertise in MASLD/MASH Clinical Trials

ERG delivers the therapeutic expertise required to support today's increasingly complex metabolic liver disease development programs. Chief Scientific Officer Clayton A. Dehn brings more than 20 years of experience spanning academia, regulatory science, and industry, with recognized expertise in first-in-human, proof-of-concept, and biomarker-driven clinical development across metabolic, endocrine, and hepatology indications. Complementing this scientific leadership and early phase expertise, Sherwyn Schwartz, M.D., ERG's Senior Medical Lead for Metabolism and Endocrinology, is a board-certified endocrinologist with more than 30 years of experience and over 1,200 clinical studies in diabetes, obesity, and MASLD/MASH. Dr. Schwartz leads ERG's MASH initiatives and provides specialized training to site personnel, ensuring consistent, high-quality execution across ERG's wholly owned research sites.

MASLD/MASH Clinical Trial Capabilities

ERG combines specialized metabolic and liver disease expertise with advanced diagnostic capabilities to support efficient, high-quality MASLD/MASH clinical trials. Our experienced investigators and dedicated site teams are expertly trained to execute complex studies involving participants with metabolic disease, hepatic impairment, and related comorbidities. Across our research network, non-invasive FibroScan® technology supports participant identification, liver fibrosis assessment, and optimized study screening, while established partnerships with leading imaging centers and hepatology specialists provide access to advanced liver imaging and biopsy capabilities when required.

MASLD/MASH Patient Recruitment and Participant Database

In addition to required specialized expertise in identifying participants with complex liver disease, successful MASLD/MASH trials depend on timely access to appropriately characterized participants. ERG combines access to our proprietary well-characterized participant populations across obesity, diabetes, and metabolic disease programs with established referral networks spanning hepatology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, obesity medicine, primary care, and diagnostic imaging. This approach is complemented by data-driven digital recruitment, community outreach, and targeted participant engagement strategies, enabling efficient enrollment while maintaining the highest standards of participant selection and study quality.
